Buying non Japanese cars in Japan's car auctions
As well as the large market for Japanese used cars there are also many opportunities to buy cars such as Audi, Bentley, Land Rover, BMW, Mercedez Benz, Porsche, Volvo and Volkswagon.
For Japanese, owning a non Japanese brand car is a status symbol. These cars are usually well cared for and serviced, and there are many floating about in auctions as the owners are usually wealthy enough to upgrade to the latest models every couple of years.
What's more, these cars are sold comparatively cheaply at car auctions as running costs, such as parts and labor, are very expensive in Japan. Bargins are really possible, with some of these cars being auctions for two thirds or half of the cost in other countries!
Foreign brand cars can be bought and exported back to your country just like any other Japanese used car. What's more, as they are built to different standards to Japanese cars it should be easier to get it to comply with safety standards and other regulations in your country, especially in Europe.
